Zuliana de Aviacion was a Venezuelan airline that is already extint. Operations started in 1985 only as a Cargo carrier but later passenger service was added. It took its name since its Operation Center was located at La Chinita Airport serving Maracaibo, the Capital City of Zulia State, the richest one in Venezuela. At some time the fleet included 3 Douglas DC8-50 for Cargo Services, 2 Boeing B-727 and 5 DC9-30 for passengers services. In 1997 operations were halted and by 2002 the fleet was completed decommissioned. There are still some remains in the yard of La Chinita Airport. In 1985, in the 20th anniversary of its inaugural flight a handful group of Virtual Flight enthusiasts lead by Angel van Delden gathered in Maracaibo and founded Zuliana Virtual de Aviacion as a homage to the extint airline. Among the founders were Jose Antonio Yepes, Rafael Leal, Heberto Bracho, Hector Morillo and Hector Partidas. Zuliana Virtual started operations officially on May 2005 and on April 10, 2012 we were officially certified by IVAO becoming one of the pioneers in Venezuela. Our Vision is to become one of the best Virtual Airlines in Latin America and for that we have worked very hard to achieve this goal. Zuliana Virtual de Aviación welcomes those virtual pilots who love this activity and would be willing to work hard to help us achieve our goals.
